The present lot is an extremely rare example and the only one of its type to have ever been offered at auction in white gold. This unusual model, Ref. 3289/24, has previously only been seen in three other examples ever before at auction, all in yellow gold. This lot is made even more collectible by retaining its original paperwork and box, making it a trophy for collectors of vintage Patek Philippe watches.
The stunning design of the present model at once recalls the 1960s creative design spirit of Patek Philippe, while at the same time appearing of-the-moment today. It was made under the leadership of celebrated designer Gilbert Albert, whose works for Patek Philippe are cherished for their innovative asymmetrical shapes that remain cutting-edge some fifty years later.
