Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may benefit from a service in the near future to be well preserved. Dial with signs of ageing, reprinted numeral and hands. Case with signs of wear. Case back engraved with "LT RH BUSH Presented by Crew of the US NAS Anacostia, DC" as well as quote of arm. Bracelet engraved "PAT'D 24-1918 1/10" Width 26 mm.

Catalogue Note

With an Extract from the Archives confirming sale on April 12th, 1912.

The case back of this watch is engraved with the U.S. Navy insignia along with the inscription “Lt. R.H. Bush, Presented by Crew of the U.S.N.A.S. Anacostia DC”. The Navy began testing sea planes at the Naval Air Station Anacostia, Washington D.C. in 1918 and the watch was presented to Lieutenant R. H. Bush by his crew members in the same year.
