Description
- Maurice de Vlaminck
- Bouquet de fleurs
- signed Vlaminck (lower right)
- oil on canvas
- 55 by 38.7cm., 21 5/8 by 15 1/4 in.
Provenance
Acquired by the parents of the present owner in the 1950s
Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a thick layer of varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate but there do appear to be some small vertical lines of retouching to the lower edge. There are some slightly raised lines of craquelure in places, mainly to the upper left corner and a small paint loss to the foliage near to the centre of the extreme left edge. The canvas is very slightly undulated in places and there is some minor paint shrinkage to some dark green pigments. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though slightly lighter overall in the original.
