The canvas has been lined. Spacer bars have been affixed to the left and right edges of the canvas and stretcher for framing. A few scattered and fine lines of cracking are visible in the darker cream pigments at lower and center left as well as at upper right. Scattered lines of cracking are also visible to the left-most depicted playing card. The paint layer is stable. Under UV light: certain pigments fluoresce, though a little inpainting is concentrated in two areas. Toward center right a few inches to the right of and above the dominoes is an area with several nailhead and pinhead sized dots of inpainting. Meanwhile toward center left the left-most playing card is similarly dotted with inpainting as is an area a couple inches lower and to the left. In this lower area there is a thicker 1-by-.5 inch area of retouching as well as a circle .5 inches in diameter. The work is in generally good condition.
