Condition
As part of the artists process, a thick web of craquelure was applied at the time of painting, and the surface of the paint layer is richly textured as a result. Minor frame abrasion is present at the extreme outer edges. Three tiny paint losses are visible: the first in the figure's hair, the second along the extreme bottom edge of the canvas, and the third along right side of the work in the folds of the drapery. Under UV light: small strokes and nailhead-sized spots of inpainting are scattered throughout, including one larger 1-inch stroke below and to the left of the figure's chin.
