Condition

This work is in excellent condition. Rich golden brown patina. Figure is affixed to the base with one screw. Slight patina rubbing below the hands and legs of the sitter, otherwise fine.

Catalogue Note

This work is a maquette for the eventual larger version which Moore created that same year, a cast of which is also being sold from the Collection of Stella Fischbach this fall (please see Impressionist and Modern Evening sale, November 5th, 2012, lot 12). Stella Fischbach acquired both works directly from the artist in 1957.
