Condition

This work is linen mounted to a waxed canvas. The surface is heavily textured; however, it appears stable overall. Mild craquelure is visible throughout. A horizontal crease mark running across the length of the center of the canvas is visible under raking light. Under ultraviolet inspection, a four-inch area of in-painting is present to the left of the boy's upper neck in the center left quadrant. Areas of in-painting are also present in the upper right quadrant and along the top edge of the upper left quadrant. This work is in very good condition overall.
