Centered by a cabochon star sapphire weighing approximately 9.75 carats, flanked and framed by numerous old European and baguette diamonds weighing approximately .70 carat, size 5¼.
Condition
In good condition with faint scratching to the mounting commensurate with wear and age. The sapphire is semi-transparent, medium-light slightly watery violetish blue, with small nicks to the surface of the stone. The sapphire is more transparent and slightly more violetish blue than depicted in the printed catalogue. The six-ray star is indistinct and relatively weak, with wavy legs and a few breaks in the legs. The diamonds surrounding the stone are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. Accompanied by GIA report no. 5111129776 stating the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
