The oval-shaped sapphire weighing 8.35 carats, framed by eight oval-shaped diamonds weighing 2.70 carats, size 6½, signed with maker's mark for Oscar Heyman & Brothers, numbered 30714.
Condition
In very good condition. The sapphire is a richly saturated medium deep slightly violetish blue, with very good clarity. Only a small amount of light silk can be seen at high magnification. There are some small nicks by two of the facet junctions but these are only evident under magnification. The diamonds are approximately E-G color, VS clarity, The mounting exhibiting minor scratches due to wear. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 50903 stating the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
