Description
- gold, diamond, colored diamond, sapphire
Of crossover design, set with one marquise-shaped Fancy Grayish Blue diamond weighing 1.14 carats and one marquise-shaped near colorless diamond weighing 1.04 carats, further set with six baguette diamonds and 6 calibré-cut sapphires, size 5½, fitted with an expandable shank, the shank stamped K&B for Karlan & Bleicher.
Condition
In good condition overall. The fancy grayish blue diamond is lighter and less blue than illustrated in the printed catalogue, and the white diamond is less white than depicted in the printed catalogue. The baguette diamonds are approximately I-J color, VS clarity. The calibré-cut sapphires are decorative in quality. Fitted with an expandable shank for ease of wear. Accompanied by two GIA reports: no. 2141836635 stating the 1.14 carat diamond is Fancy Grayish Blue, Natural Color, VS1 clarity and no. 6147852654 stating the 1.04 carat diamond is J color, SI2 clarity. The expandable shank, which was later added, is stamped K&B for Karlan & Bleicher, which was founded in New York in 1926. Now operated by Walter Karlan, the son of one of the founders, the company moved to Wilton, Connecticut in 1973. The company was purchased in 1982 by Design Craft Jewel Industries.
