The brooch set with numerous round and pear-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 17.50 carats, the pinbridge signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered N.Y. 51661, the brooch frame signed VCA, numbered NY 3805 SO; fitted with pendant loop. With signed box. The ring centered by an oval-shaped cabochon ruby weighing approximately 16.00 carats, framed by numerous round diamonds weighing approximately 1.60 carats, size 4½, signed Van Cleef & Arpels. With signed box. The brooch and ring with interchangeable centers.
Condition
Both pieces in very good condition with some minor surface scratching and patination to the gold on the reverse of the brooch. BROOCH: The diamonds are approximately F-G color, predominantly VVS-VS clarity. Signed and numbered on the pinbridge, also signed and numbered on the removable centerpiece. RING: The ruby is a medium deep purplish red, translucent, heavily included with numerous small cavities and surface-reaching inclusions that are only visible under magnification. The ruby is a slightly deeper purple than illustrated in the printed catalogue. Signed on the removable centerpiece and fitted with an inner sizing band. The diamonds are approximately F-G color, VVS-VS clarity.
