Condition
The surface of the works are both in overall good condition. There is finite craquelure throughout both of the pictures. Noticable retouching along the top edge in both. Evidence of some minute pigment seperation in both. Under UV; inpainting along the top edge, upper left and right corners and the sky in both.

Catalogue Note
Sir Bruce Ingram was one of the foremost collectors of 17th century Dutch maritime pictures during the first half of the 20th century, over time he collected over 3,000 drawings including 600 by Willem van de Velede the Elder and the Younger. The majority of his pictures were bought from Colnaghi's in the first half of the 20th century.
