Condition

The image in the catalogue corresponds to the actual painting. The canvas is relined (glue). The seam of the two pieces is slightly visible, running horizontally through the centre. Furthermore the paint surface seems to be in good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered tiny retouchings in the figures, a repaired scratch in the lower right corner, as well as a repair lower left. The sky is thin and has some overpainting and small retouchings as well. Offered in modern wood frame, fair condition. (ML)
