The large canvas has been relined. The paint surface is a little dirty but appears to be in good condition to the naked eye. The paint surface is a little pressed in the area of the beard. Inspection under UV light reveals somescattered retouchings; for example a few scattered specks fluoresce in the face, as well as others scattered in the torso and in other flesh tones. These have been very well applied and cannot be perceived with the naked eye. Other retouchings in the background can be made out. Offered in a wood and gold painted frame in good condition.
