Description
- Berenice Abbott
- 'LOOKING UP TOWARD BROADWAY FROM EXCHANGE PLACE'
- Gelatin silver print
signed and titled in pencil and with the photographer's '50 Commerce Street, New York 14, N. Y.' studio stamp on the reverse, 1936 (Yochelson, Wall Street, pl. 18)
Condition
This large photograph, on lightly textured, double-weight paper with a slight surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. The print is trimmed to the image, and the edges are very lightly worn, with resultant tiny losses. The tips of the upper and lower left corners are creased, both of which break the emulsion.
On the reverse of the print, 'M. 134' and 'NYT #12' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil. There are 3 small hinge remnants on the reverse along the top and bottom edges. The reverse of the print is faintly soiled.
When examined under ultra-violet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
