Condition

This impressive large early dye-transfer print is in generally very good condition. The colors remain saturated. In the lower right quadrant, there is a pinpoint-sized nick in the emulsion. When examined in raking light, the following, which likely occurred either prior to mounting or during the mounting process, are visible: 3 sharp linear creases (3/4 to 1 1/2 inches) at the upper right edge; a crescent-shaped sharp crease at the upper left edge; a tiny x-shaped crease in the lower right black dot on the dice; two tiny soft handling creases and two very small mounting bubbles where particles have become trapped between the print and the mount.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
