Condition

This photograph is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, a lovely patina of silvering is visible overall. Upon very close examination in raking light, the following are visible: a small, soft crease in the lower right corner, which likely occurred prior to mounting; and several scattered tiny matte deposits, likely original retouching, in the upper portion of the image. This print is on a thin off-white mount, which is appropriately age-darkened primarily at the edges. The mount is very slightly soiled on the front and reverse from light handling. In addition to the print of this image in the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, Conger locates prints in the following institutional collections: Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth, Texas; The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, Missouri; and Special Collections, University of California, Santa Cruz, this last a Project Print.
