Condition

This print, on semi-glossy paper and mounted on a heavy, smooth cream-colored board, is in generally excellent condition. The print is rubbed at the upper left edge, where there is barely-discernible, minor emulsion loss. In raking light, tiny deposits of original retouching are visible. The mount's corners are bumped, and the lower left corner is creased. There is a nick in the top paper ply at the upper edge. There is light soiling on the front and heavier soiling on the reverse, where there are rust-colored adhesive remains. 'Box 2#' is written on the reverse in an unidentified hand in blue pencil. We believe this to be a print from the 1930s, based on the print's surface and quality of the paper. In addition, it has been mounted to smooth, heavy board, rather than the lighter weight mounts typical of the 1940s.
