Condition
These photographs are in generally excellent condition, except where noted below. Each photograph is initialed in pencil except for 'Broken Glass,' which is fully signed. The mounts are very slightly darkened at the periphery, and there are occasional fingerprints from handling on the reverse.
Broken Glass, 1954 - '754006' is stamped on the reverse of the mount.
Stairway with Broom, New York, 1945
Monterey Pine in Fog, 1962 - There are 2 tiny losses of emulsion along the upper right edge and at the lower left corner.
Rock Formation, Point Lobos, California, 1951 - Although this image is from 1951, the mount is dated 1955.
Kelp, 1954
Cracked Paint, Garrapata, 1954 - Although this image is from 1954, the mount is dated 1951.
Tree Roots with Succulents, 1951 - There is a tideline and evidence of exposure to moisture along the left, lower left, and upper right edges of the mount. The print is not affected.
Black Window, Mariposa, California, 1950 - There is a small errant red mark on the mount in the lower right corner.
White Sands, New Mexico, 1947 - Upon close examination, a fingerprint is visible in the lower right quadrant of the print.
Point Lobos, California, 1951 - Although this image is from 1951, the mount is dated 1963. There is a tideline and evidence of exposure to moisture along the upper, lower, and right edges of the mount. The print is not affected.
The white portfolio case has somewhat yellowed with age and is lightly soiled from handling. The binding is in excellent condition.

Catalogue Note
There are an unknown number of intact, completed Ten Photographs portfolios in existence. Although Brett Weston intended to publish 25 copies in 1963, he did not complete the edition, due to a lack of funds. In 1981, Weston returned to this portfolio and completed the edition, likely expanding it to 50, as was his later preferred edition size. The photographer's personal inscription of 1969 clearly marks this portfolio as being from the original printing.
