Catalogue Note
The Imperial Porcelain Manufactory produced a number of complex porcelain candelabra in this period relying on the skills of their sculptors and fine gilt bronze works such as that St. Petersburg's Chopin foundry. This candelabrum resembles a number of the lighting devices produced as part of the dowry of Grand Duchess Alexandra Nikolaevna. See Die Mitgift einer Zarentochter, Eurasberg, 1997, pp. 192-193.
