- length 30cm, 11 3/4 in.
the domed base repoussé with the Imperial eagle, the handle with cross terminal and engraved with leaf trails, the sides engraved with cartouches framing a series of Russian inscriptions recording Empress Elizabeth Petrovna's presentation of this kovsh on 3 May 1743 to Cossack Hetman Andrei Borodin for his faithful service, the prow with later ball finial, apparently unmarked

the handle replaced and the ball finial on the prow probably later; with some surface losses consistent with age
