depicting a ship drifting on the sea surrounded by rocks, the shipwrecked sailors sitting in their boat with St Nicholas on the left, his arms raised in prayer; the icon taken from a large Vita icon of St Nicholas and recently transferred into a new panel
Condition
The original icon recently transferred into a new panel, the raised borders recently gilded and the inscription in red added at the same time, some minor retouching to the dark green sea, covered with darkened varnish
