Description

the Kazanskaya icon (19th century) set in the central panel of the triptych (17th century) surrounded by the twelve disciples, in the upper part the New Testament Trinity, flanked by the Mother of God and St John the Forerunner, the Annunciation depicted in the upper part of both wings of the triptych, with groups of chosen saints from the calendar year presented in three registers underneath, red leather exterior
Condition
The Mother of God with a later basma (probably modern) and with some minor cracking and retouching, the face of Christ with a patch of restoration on the right side, the Triptych with some loss of paint, especially in the red band below the New Testament Trinity, some retouching in the faces of the saints and in other parts, the inscriptions and the gilding in the halos of the saints redone in the 19th century, some damage due to woodworm in the wings of the panel.
