Description

the monk St Nicholas presented half-length dressed in the analov, or Great Schema, of the most spiritually advanced ascetic monks, he makes a sign of blessing with his right hand and holds a closed scroll with his other hand, the oklad repoussé and the halo chased with foliate decoration, the engraved inscription in the lower part referring to the 25th jubilee of Nikolai Evimovich Kushmin and dated 1 September 1901, struck with maker's mark, possibly LA (Cyrillic), 84 standard

Condition

The original panel transferred onto another panel, some wear to the gilded background and along the edges of the icon, some minor surface chips due to the silver basma, in good overall condition
