of upright rounded rectangular form, the front decorated with Falconet's monument to Peter the Great, the reverse with the Arch of the General Staff and the Alexander Column, on stippled gilt grounds within rocaille scrolls, the lid, base and sides with military panoplies, struck with maker's mark NT or NG (Cyrillic; possibly Postnikova-Losseva no. 2717), 84 standard, Belgian import mark for 1831-1868

Condition

Excellent condition, well made and handsome. Far less wear than one usually sees with similar objects of this date.
