Generally very good condition and a grand, impressive object. Good weight and good colour. With minor rubbing and minor scratches to the gilded surface; the surface also partially lacquered. One swag missing its rosette terminal at the rear; one swag also loose. The flame finial slightly bent, which is visible in the catalogue photo. The movement: The earlier and adapted carriage clock movement by Drocourt, Paris, circa 1890, numbered 34984, formerly with alarm works (now completely removed). The movement is otherwise complete and would just run at the time of cataloguing but is much in need of a clean and service. The original winding key is present.
