the finely painted saint depicted half-length against a gilded background, with a long grey beard, dressed as a bishop, making the blessing gesture with his right hand and holding the Gospels with his left hand, on the top border Christ Pantocrator appearing in a segment of heaven, the inscription written in gold on the lower border reading 'This holy icon was painted in the year 1823, January 16, the commissioner [...] Matvey Petrovich Patokin, from the village of Grigorovsk [...]

Some wear to the gilding and some wear to the painting due to the craquelure on the surface and due to the metal oklad
