Bruce Carpenter, Willem Hofker Schilder van / Painter of Bali, Wijk en Aalburg, Netherlands, 1993, p. 54, illustrated in colour
Condition
The work is in good condition, as is the paper, which is clear of ostensible problems associated with paper as a medium such as foxing, watermarks, tears or holes. The paper is slightly angulated, possibly due to the mounting of the frame, but without apparent condition problems. The colors are more vivid, warm and saturated than the catalogue illustration. The skin tone of the figure is more bronze, which gives the musculature and bone structure a more defined effect in reality. Framed, with Perspex.
