- mirror 28cm. by 31.5cm; 11in., 1ft. ½in., octagonal frame, 28.5cm. by 23cm; 11¼in., 9in., rectangular frame, 25.5cm. by 21cm; 10in., 8¼in.
comprising a rectangular blue and engraved glass mirror, depicting a neo-classical figure holding a flaming torch, the blue glass border applied with engraved glass elliptical motifs and foliage within a parcel-gilt border, together with an octagonal engraved glass frame, late 17th/ early 18th century, with twisted-ribbon borders; some losses and a rectangular foil-backed parcel-gilt and silvered Murano frame, Venetian late 17th /early 18th century, with a printed paper label on the back Maghenzani, Milano, 10 Monte Napoleone
Condition
Rectangular frame with figure: The silvering is worn throughout. The top two corner motifs are cracked.The bottom central motif is cracked. Octagonal frame: Minor chips theroughout which do not detract. Reverse-painted decoration flaking and worn. Rectangular frame: Outer black painted panel cracked in two places on left and right hand sides. Lower panel replaced. Inner red painted panel cracked in two places. Wear to painted decoration throughout.
