of oval form, carved on one side with a palace set in a mountainous landscape, two dragons swimming in waves below, a square in the center forming the smooth palette, the sides carved with a continuous figural landscape of the eighteen Luohans engaged in various activities, the hollowed out underside carved with an eighteen-character inscription describing the scene in seal script and a seal reading gu xiang, the stone of a gray-green color

The piece has wear consistent with age and use, including chips and nicks to the edges, as well as a slight depression from grinding on the square palette.
