Catalogue Note

With a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives.

Ref. 3445, frequently referred to as the 'Monodate', was the first calendar wristwatch produced by Patek Philippe in a series.  The model remains one of the most popular automatic wristwatches made by the company and incorporates the legendary calibre 27-460 movement.  To improve efficiently by creating greater mass and ensure that the w🍒atch is continually and smoothly wound when worn, an 18k gold rotor is used as the automatic weight instead of steel as was generally found acceptable in the industry at the period. The movement is also fitted with the Patek Philippe patented, revolutionary, ‘Gyromax’ balance to improve timekeeping.

The production of this reference s🍬tarted in 1961 and ceased around 1981 such was the popularity of model. Available in 18k yellow, white and pink goldꦺ as well as platinum cases and with a strap or incorporated bracelet.

According to our research, fewer than 13 examples of this reference in pink gold have appeared at au𒐪ction.
