Catalogue Note

With a Patek Philippe presentation box and an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 2000 and sale on February 12th 2003.  Further with presentation box and outer packaging.

Available from 2001 until 2006 exclusively in yellow gold, the Ref.5074 broke tradition from Patek Philippe’s philosophy of creating highly complicated movements within a compact case. Housed within a large 42mm diameter dust-resistant outer the model utilized the same self-winding Cal. R 27 Q minute repeating perpetual calendar movement as found in the famed, 36mm diameter Ref.3974 (see lot 2320). Due to the increased diameter of the case, Patek Philippe were able to incorporate much longer coiled ‘Cathedral’ repeater gongs that allowed for greater resonance when chimed. Visually the model is perhaps the close🅺st resemblance of all Patek Philippe’s grand complications to their flagship Skymoon Tourbillon Ref.5002, offered in a similarly proportioned diameter while providing a thickness that can be used regularly, the 5074 is ideally created for those collectors that desire to wear their watches. Available in yellow gold with either a silvered or black dial less than 8 examples of 5074J are known to the market.
