Description
- SAPPHIRE, DIAMOND, PLATINUM
Modelled as a sea-turtle centring on an oval cabochon star sapphire weighing 50.45 carats, decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 4.00 carats, mounted in platinum.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin report, the star sapphire is natural, of Sri Lankan origin, with no indication of heating, also accompanied by Gübelin information sheet stating that this star sapphire is rarely found in nature. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the star sapphire is of medium blue colour, with visible colour zoning but pleasing, very good translucency. Upon spot lighting, the sapphire shows two distinct and soft six-ray stars atop the dome, known in the trade as 'Double-star'. Diamonds are about H to I colours, VVS to SI clarity.
Conditon: Very fine and whimsical platinum mount, in very good condition.

Accompanied by Gübelin report numbered 13067356, dated 27 June 2013, stating that the 50.45 carat star sapphire is natural, of Sri Lankan origin, with no indications of heating. Sapphire which have not been heated are scarce.
