Composed of a strand of natural pearls measuring from approximately 5.65 to 6.00mm, the clasp set with two circular-cut diamonds, length approximately 455mm.
Provenance
Conrad Hinrich Freiherr von Donner (1876-1937) was married to Agnes Freifrau von Donner, née von Bülow (b.1888-1962). The necklace was given to their daughter, Agnes Ingeborg, most likely on the occasion of her confirmation. The clasp is engraved with her initials. Conrad Hinrich Freiherr von Donner's great grandfather, Conrad Hinrich Donner (1774-1854) was the financier, statesman and art collector, who founded the Hamburg-based Donner Bank in 1789.

Engraved A.I.v.D. on the clasp, probably referring to the later owner Agnes Ingeborg von Donner. According to the SSEF report, the 71 pearls are roundish to oval, drop-, button-, and barrel-shaped and measure approximately 5.70 - 5.65 - 5.70 - 6.00 - 5.75 cm in diameter, white to light cream, partially with rosé and green overtones; few blemishes and little pitting, good lustre. Diamonds of decorative quality. Clasp secure, safety catch to the side. Normal signs of wear to the metal, scratches consistent with wear. In good condition. Gross weight 21 grams.
