Gold and sapphire vanity case, late 19th century, Russian

Description
Designed as a fluted gold case, the front applied with the arms of a Count in blue enamel, the thumb piece set with a cabochon sapphire, opening to reveal a later mirror, measuring approximately 90 x 55 x 15mm, Russian assay and maker's mark.
Condition
Maker's mark ББ (Cyrillic), possibly for Vasili Viktorov, St Petersburg, assay mark dated to period of 1861-1900. Stamped with 56 solotnik for 14 carat gold. Mirror likely later added, may have previously been a cigarette case. Blue enamel with minor scratches. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 151 grams (with mirror).
