Of geometric design, the two panels set with 42 round, oval and cushion-cut rubies weighing approximately 33.50 carats, accented by baguette, old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 9.00 carats, length 7 inches; circa 1930. Accompanied by brooch fittings and a screwdriver so the two panels may be worn as brooches. With fitted box.
Condition
In good condition. The rubies range from a medium to medium deep purplish red to slightly purplish red, lightly to moderately included, with some examples showing minor surface reaching inclusions visible under magnification. The diamonds are approximately F-H color, VS-SI clarity with several VVS examples. Highly flexible. Both clasps can easily detach from the bracelet, and the brooch fittings screw into the reverse side of the two panels to allow for wear as epaulets. Lining of box is signed with a New Bond St. address, but the name of the firm is obscured. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 55242 stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
