Centering an old mine-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.25 carats, framed by six smaller old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.00 carats, spaced by six baguette emeralds, the mounting further accented by round and old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately .60 carat, gross weight approximately 8 dwts, size 7, signed René Boivin, with French assay mark; circa 1940.
Condition
In good condition. The center diamond is approximately I-J color and SI clarity, due to chipping along the girdle. The additional diamonds are a light brownish yellow color (not tested for origin of color) and SI-I clarity. The emeralds are a medium green color and are moderately included. A ring of similar design is illustrated in Francoise Caille's monograph on page 168 and is described as having a "chaton" setting.
