The finely carved and pierced jadeite tablet depicting fruit and floral motifs, measuring approximately 54.8 by 37.6 mm, suspended by a pink tourmaline bead measuring approximately 10.4 by 13.0 by 7.9 mm, further set with a pearl measuring approximately 4.6 mm and old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately .80 carat, signed Cartier, numbered 251041; circa 1925. Together with a later-added black cord for wear, length 19 inches.

Condition

In good condition. The jade is semi-translucent to opaque and ranges from medium bluish green to light slightly yellowish green. The carving is delicate and well executed. The diamonds are approximately H-I color, VS clarity with a few SI examples. The pink tourmaline is medium slightly purplish pink and moderately included with one noticeable surface reaching inclusion. The split pearl is silvery white with good luster. Please note that the pearl has not been tested for natural origin. The length is 3 1/2 inches. A similar pendant by Cartier can be found in "Cartier Splendeurs de La Joaillerie" on page 144, plates 202 and 203. Please note the pendant is accompanied by a later-added black cord measuring 19 inches.
