Centering a three-dimensional sprig of wisteria, against an adze-shaped segment of black opal, within a frame of heart and arrow motifs with foliate swirls, accented by one cabochon pink sapphire, the reverse inscribed with leaf and berry motifs, suspended from an 18 karat gold chain of concentric oval links, length 60 inches, with French assay and workshop marks; circa 1900.

Condition

In very good condition. The black opal shows a strong purple play of color, no visible crazing. Some very minor enamel loss, not apparent when worn. The pink sapphire is a light purplish pink, lightly included. Bears a nice heft. With French assay, workshop and export marks. The chain does not have a clasp.
