The consignor’s father was well-known in New York real estate and political circles, having been honored by Presidents Kennedy and Nixon as an accomplished labor union leader.  A noted philanthropist, he was the labor chairman of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethons in the 1960s and his family continues to generously assist those living with the disease.
