Designed with a delicate openwork pattern set with numerous old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 24.80 carats, accented by three oval-shaped rubies weighing approximately 6.75 carats, length 7¼ inches, numbered 1627, with French assay marks; circa 1930.
Condition
In good condition with light scratching to the platinum commensurate with age. The rubies are a lively medium-deep slightly pinkish red, and lightly to moderately included. The diamonds are approximately G-J color, predominantly VS clarity. Indistinctly signed on the underside of the clasp. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 55892 stating that the rubies are of Classic Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Although unsigned, the foliate motifs and quality of the workmanship and stones evoke the work of Van Cleef & Arpels during the Art Deco period. For similar bracelets by Van Cleef & Arpels, see Sothebys New York, December 6, 2006, lot 326 or Sothebys London, July, 16, 2009, lot 236.
