Centering a cushion-cut sapphire weighing 5.06 carats, within an openwork mounting of floral design set with old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately .30 carat, size 7¾; circa 1915.
Condition
In good condition, with some minor thinning to the shank and evidence of re-sizing visible under magnification. The sapphire is a lively, medium very slightly violetish blue, lightly included with some abrading to the facet junctions visible upon close inspection. The diamonds are approximately H-I color, VS-SI clarity. Nice detailing to the gallery. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 57085 stating that the sapphire is of Kashmir origin, with no indications of heating.
