The panel is made up of one, flat board and there is a repaired vertical split to the right of centre, visible on the face of the panel in raking light. Inspection under UV reveals infilling and retouching to the break and further minor retouched losses to the flesh tones and marble and retouching in Christ's right shoulder and to the upper left hand corner. There is possible old strengthening to the scroll above the cross. The painting is offered in a carved gilt wood frame and is ready to hang in its present state.
