Description
- Otto van Veen
- A lady bitten by a parrot
- oil on panel
Condition
Panel is flat and stable. Strips of wood have been applied to the verso to stabilize the panel where there are panel joins. In all, there are four vertical joins which have brought together strips of wood of varying widths. There is slight retouching along each of the joins, and these slight retouches have been applied at different times in the paintings history. Certainly a light cleaning would brighten the picture and a fresh varnish would also benefit. Overall though, the picture appears to be in a healthy state of preservation. In a carved and gilt wood frame.
