Condition

Copper plate is flat. there are scattered very small losses in background areas, crown of thorns, right side of hair and right side of chin. most of the face and drapery are well preserved and detail is quite lovely. a few larger losses at far left edge at center. under a dirty and discolored varnish. under UV light: there is retouching over an L-shaped loss or scratch in hair at left side which runs over to right edge through staff. another smaller one runs from top of head to upper edge. these have been well applied and are not readily visible to naked eye. Offered in a faded orange velvet covered frame with a gilt inner edge.
