The canvas has a glue relining which is firm and stable. the painting is presentable and could be hung as is. the paint surface has been well preserved and the detail remains very good throughout. the impasto has been slightly pressed in the areas of the lace on collar, cuffs and bonnet, but these areas still read quite well. examination under UV light reveals some retouching in sky at right including over a possible repaired puncture. another larger area of retouching can be seen in background at left underneath left sleeve, and a few others scattered in background and on goat. aside from one larger retouch on lower part of her white skirt and a few other scattered small retouches to her costume, the figure of the girl looks quite good and there is only a small area of retouching on her chin at lower right side. it appears that some parts of the signature have been reinforced. In a cassetta style frame with painted center and corner arabesques.
