Condition
Both have old glue relinings. both are under slightly dirty varnish, but are presentable and could be hung as is.
Doge's Palace: surface has been very slightly pressed in the relining, but overall the paint surface has been well retained with only a slight degree of thinness to some of the browns. UV light reveals a few small scattered retouches in sky, otherwise just a few retouches and reinforcements in Doge's Palace to some of the darks of the windows. foreground and figures look very good.
Zattere: as with the other, the surface has been slightly pressed, mostly in sky and clouds, and there is some thinness to the darks and some areas of the water. overall, the composition reads very well. under UV light, there are small retouches in water in foreground and to some of the gondolas. others here and there in sky.
Offered in elaborately carved and gilt wood and plaster frames.
