Description
- Harry Callahan
- WEED AGAINST SKY
- Gelatin silver print
mounted to thin gray board, affixed to a modern mount, 1948 (Aperture, p. 27)
Condition
This early print is in generally very good to excellent condition. Silvering is visible in the thin dark areas of the image. Upon very close examination, the following are visible: a tiny rust-colored adhesion in the lower right corner; and a tiny rust-colored deposit of indeterminate nature in the upper left quadrant. In high raking light, a few small, irregularly-shaped superficial surface scratches are visible overall; these do not appear to break the emulsion and do not detract from the overall fine appearance of this print. This print is trimmed to the image, and the left and right edges are ever-so-slightly darker.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
