Description

  • Henri Cartier-Bresson
  • Allées du Prado, Marseilles
  • gelatin silver print
large-format, signed in ink in the margin, framed, 1932, printed later (Cartier-Bresson: Photographer pl. 17)

Condition

This large-format print, on paper with a lightly-pebbled surface, is in generally excellent condition. As is typical of Cartier-Bresson's prints, a few deposits of original retouching are visible in raking light. The margins are slightly rippled, and there is a small, sharp crease in the right margin. This does not affect the image. On the reverse, 'Z385' is written in an unidentified hand in pencil. There is some rust-colored discoloration on the reverse.
