This print is in generally excellent condition. As is typical of Cartier-Bresson's prints, scattered deposits of original retouching are visible in raking light. The following are also visible in raking light in the left portion of the image: two small, soft creases that do not appear to break the emulsion; and a 4-inch linear impression, which also does not appear to break the emulsion. The upper left margin corner is slightly bumped. On the reverse, '5597' and 'Downtown New York, 1947, I.' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil.
